Domestic Energy Performance Assessments

What is an EPC?

An Energy Performance Certificate shows how energy-efficient your property is, with a rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient).

Do I need an EPC?

You’ll need an EPC if you’re selling a domestic property. Landlords must also ensure rental properties meet the minimum energy efficiency standard (Currently E rating).
You can check if your property already has a currently valid EPC here: https://www.gov.uk/find-energy-certificate

How long does an EPC last?

EPCs are valid for 10 years unless you make major changes to the property.

How long does an EPC assessment take?

Most assessments take 30–90 minutes, depending on the size and type of the property.

What areas do you cover?

We serve Bristol, Bath, and the wider Avon region.

How much does an EPC cost?

Our prices are clear and competitive. Costs vary depending on the property size – please contact us for a quick quote.

What happens during an EPC assessment?

We carry out a property inspection, looking at factors like insulation, heating systems, energy efficient lighting, renewable technologies (like solar panels), windows, and construction type.

Do I need to prepare anything before the assessment?

Not much – just ensure we have access to all rooms, loft spaces (if safe), and the boiler/heating system. Please be aware we will need to take photographs throughout for audit purposes.

How soon will I receive my EPC?

We usually deliver certificates within 24–48 hours after the assessment. On completion, your certificate will be added to the England and Wales EPC Register.

What is your accreditation?

We are accredited by Elmhurst Energy, which is a government approved trainer and accreditation service. Our accreditation ID is EES/035379
